I know its soon to be Father’s Day, but I just wanted to take the time to thank you for all the help you provided for my parents during my and my sister’s early years. You were like another grandma to me who I sometimes didn’t understand, but always loved. All the memories are too great to forget so you will never be forgotten by me. From Wendy’s to the corner store, you were always there and I love you forever Mattie. This is honestly another reason – I am getting em day by day – to be happy in life and follow my dreams. You were there when I was just a dream to my parents and I thank you once I again. The tears that I am crying right now will never add up to the smiles I saw on your face growing up. You truly are a blessing. See you again, but not yet, not yet.

Found out you had cancer now for about twelve weeks
Heart torn by pain, futures ruptured by reality
Hurt like hell, but I wouldn’t let it get the best of me

The future is not promised, but who is really to say so
Bonds stronger and nights longer
Pain surging through your body
Had death become hunger
At least not for you, because you were strong

As you lost your hair, you also lost your fears
Loving your family more than ever as you kept us near
Saying everything would be alright as you wept a tear
A tear of joy, a smile of jubilance
That same beautiful smile that I been seeing every day since
Day by day, the beast would be gone
Day by day, you were more than happy to be home
